Hippy Chicks!

Last weekend we kept Claire while Em and Chris went out to CO
to ski. We had so much fun wit
her! She is such a busy little girl! We laughed all weekend, she says the funniest things and does the craziest stuff! On Saturday we went up to the G to see the "hippy chicks" and Kona and Sawyer. As you will see she had a B-I-G time!

Back at the house she had fun with Joey...not so much Lola. Little Lola was in hiding most of the weekend (usually eating Claire's toys).

We love our neice! Being an Aunt and Uncle is the BEST!

Olympics, love, crying, and other such nonsense.

Let's talk about the Olympics and how much I love them (and how awkward it is to try and type the word Olympics)....

I L-O-V-E the Olympics! I love what they stand for, I love the under dog stories, I love the success stories, I love watching people pour their hearts out for their country, I love watching the events whether it's the Summer or Winter Olympics. But since we're right in the middle of the Winter Olympics let's talk about them!

I love the Opening Ceremonies...
I love the artistry and creativity of these ceremonies. I love learning about the culture and history of the host country during the ceremony. I love the anticipation of who will be the torch bearer to light the cauldron. It's just all so beautiful!

I love Figure Skating...
I was so delighted to find out that the two pairs figure skaters from the US train in the Tampa Bay area. What up to the Ellenton outlet mall! And was even more elated to find out the a girl from one team is dating a guy from the other. Makes such a wonderful story!

I love Snowboarding...
It's a secret desire of mine to be super good at snowboarding but let's be honest living in FL this is probably NOT going to happen. I cried like a baby last night when Shawn White won gold! LOVE IT!

I love Skiing...
Whoa it would be amazing to fly down a hill that fast and terrifying! I've never been skiing. We're keeping Claire this weekend while Em and Chris go skiing...it might be as close as I ever get to skiing.

I love Curling...
We bought a video game for our Wii after Christmas that had curling as an event. Since then I'm obsessed with curling.

I love Bobsledding...
Cool Runnings. Enough Said.

I cry a lot....
I cry when someone wins, I cry during any country's national anthem but ESPECIALLY the Star Spangled Banner, I cry when they get their medals, I cry when they have a good performance, I cry in the recap shows, I cry in the interviews! The Olympics just make me weepy. Anyone else have that issue?

I told MK last night that I want to be an Olympian - he told me I was past my prime! OUCH! It's true with 27 happening next week these 19 yr. old kids would kick my booty even if I was good at any Winter (or Summer) event.

love,

"Dad's Home!"

Our little puppies featured in the post before sleeping peacefully have a true highlight of their day every week day and some Saturdays. It's when MK comes home from work! They couldn't be happier to see him since they have been stuck with me all day. Here is a look at the few minutes right before he arrives, when he is standing outside talking with neighbors (torturing the pups), about to walk in the door, and when he gets smothered with puppy love.....

I told them he was close and this what they did....

Notice he is standing just the other side of the tree and how much they can't stand it!

About to walk in the door......

Then the puppy love ensues...he acts annoyed but he really adores their love!

The pups are nothing but blurs due to the fact that they're hoping all over him trying to sniff him and give lots of kisses....

oh the joys of pups.

Baby it's Cold Outside

Baby it's cold out side and it's not even Christmas!!!

The pups were extra frisky this morning but quickly wore themselves out. I was working away this morning on junk for work, making contacts, getting info, planning, that kind of junk and I look over to see the pups extra cuddled. Oh those babies! They are FL dogs for sure! And on occasion I guess they do love each other, especially when it's cold. Look at these sillies all comfy on the couch.
love,
lp and the pups (Jo and Lo)

Moving on....

Moving on from the craziness that life has dealt us I'm working but not at the break neck pace I was since Christmas. It's nice to feel like I'm just getting the things done for work that got pushed to the back burner. Maybe life will be normal here for awhile.

In the meantime I stumbled across this picture that my sis took while in AL of my grandparents and thought it was just adorable. Mema and Dadad are in their 90s and are still so in love. You can just see it on my Dadad's face....

Happy Birthday Em!!!

During the crazy month of January Emily's birthday passed by and we were so engrossed in survival of the fittest that we had to postpone the celebration until the end of the month. We had cupcakes (much to Claire's delight) and chili!

I love my sis and am so glad we were able to celebrate this fun time with her and the rest of the fam! Enjoy...
