Circle G

As mentioned in some other posts MK owns a feed store with one of our good friends. I will say that it is a different world than over here in the suburbs of Tampa.

After the bank a couple nights a week MK
goes up to the Circle G to do different tasks and help his business
partner out with other things.
Thursday it was a delivery that needed to be done. Since we've both been working tons of hours and I'll be traveling next week the pups and I decided to ride along on this delivery. We rode in the box truck which struck panic in Joey almost immediately. We saw some pretty property and beautiful houses. We also saw a girl that had gotten thrown off her horse and was laying face down in the grass. MK, being the guy that he is and the fact that he inherited some captain underpants characteristics from his dad, swerved the box truck off the road and sprinted into the field only to find out the girl was fine AND that he knew almost everyone in the field. The dogs and I hung out in the truck while MK loaded and unloaded and then re-loaded the truck.

I will say that the horse world is a whole different CRAZY world.

Working From Home

Working From Home is a concept that I get asked about all the time. I have thewonderfulblessing of being able to work from myhouse for acompany located on the East Coast of this Beautiful sunshine state in which we live. The question I get asked the most is, "Don't you just LOVE working from home?" And most of the time myanswer is, "YES!" But, sometimes I want togive the long answer. Pictures in this post show you my workspace in the smack-dab, middle of my house (quite literally, since we live in a 12oo sq.ft. bowling alley of a townhouse, for which we are very thankful). What these pictures do not capture are the following items:
1. The Ringing Phone of personal calls that you desperately want to take but have to choose work in stead.
2. The laundry piled high while you stare at spreadsheets.
3. The chicken you forgot to take out of the freezer to thaw for
dinner and in turn you feel like a dummy cause you have after all been in the house all day.
4. The 5:45, 6:30, 7:00 & 9:00 evening phone calls that still come cause after all your really haven't ever left the office, in fact you sleep at the office.
5. The projects left unfinished because while you stare at them day in day out you're really staring at training materials and culinary forms.
6. Dog Hair.
7. The distractions. Here is a picture of my latest distraction and the newest decorative change in the Kelly household. PSA: Decorative changes happen quite often here don't be surprised.

8. Being home when MK has to make an emergency run home from work due to a "wardrobe malfunction" (which happened today).

9. Being able to snuggle sleeping puppies after a stresfull work email, phone call, text, voice mail. Because after all that's what sleeping puppies are for.
10. Being able to take a lunch break to the gym and not having to worry about making it back to office all sweaty cause your shower is upstairs and you'll get a shower at some point today.

There are other highs and lows of working from home but those are just some highlights and ideas of what your workspace might look like spread across your dining room table if you too were a housewife with another full time job that required much of your time.

Thankful

We have a lot to be thankful for lately. We feel very blessed all around for our health, for our jobs, for our home, for each other but most of all for our family. I'm sure some have heard but due to the events that have involved our family the past few months I feel more and more thankful for each and every member of our families. We've had health scares, freak accidents, and now add to the list armed robbery. You know it's crazy and difficult times when someone decides it's time to rob a preacher and his secretary in broad daylight. Everyone is safe and on the mend without any super serious injuries. I don't know if I've ever thanked the Lord so much for my Dad as I have the past two days. He truly is a treasure and God truly is good.
For goodness sakes what would we do without G-Daddy?
So with those thoughts let's keep in mind God's grace and love and safety and friends and blessings of family and the beauty we see in everyday life. Like this beautiful dragonfly on MK's handsome hand.

Dance Party USA and Fun with our Bug

This impromptu Dance Party makes me smile every time I look at the pictures.

These girls are so
much fun and have great time together. Bax has really got the moves and Bug has just jumps around like crazy showing off in her Woo-Pig-Pooie shirt for Uncle MK.

Chessin'!
Can you tell that one picture she was actually flipped upside down on the couch?
Dance Parties will have that effect on you sometimes. I can attest to that for sure!

We also kept Bug for the weekend. We had SO much fun with her! We took a special trip to Chick-Fil-A and watched Buzz and Woody and Hermit crabs on Uncle MK's "puter!"

As you can see we've had some busy weekends as of late. I thought this weekend was going to be a nice relaxing one but it hasn't quite turned out that way. Work has just really put a lot on my plate and I ended up having to work most of the day. Through the beginning of August it's probably going to be 7 days a week for me with travel thrown into the mix. I'm quite tired already and just imagining it makes me even more tired. Good news is MK saw that I was at a breaking point and after being up at The G came home and helped me out with some deep cleaning. Love that guy.
Can't you see why???

Distraction, Veggies, and the Effects of Marriage on Diets....

I am in need a of a distraction from staring a food, recipes and training materials this morning or afternoon whichever it is and....
This one has lost his crazy mind today

And has therefore influenced this one to be just as crazy....

So here are my thoughts lately on food.
Monday I went grocery shopping. While shopping for the necessities I had a hard time figuring out which protein (specifically chicken, pork and turkey) sounded good to me and which ones I would want to cook with this week.

Alternately while in the perusing the produce, veggies, and nuts I had to make myself stop from putting items into my cart. The fresh fruits, decadent berries, tasty leafy greens and delicious roasted almonds were just so appealing to me.

Monday and Tuesday MK wasn't really around so I cooked and ate whatever looked good to me at the time. By Wednesday night when I contemplating dinner I realized it had been since Sunday since I had had protein from a meat source and the lack of meat didn't bother me.

All this made me wonder......
Would I be an vegetarian inadvertently due to my own food preferences and not convictions (cause let's be honest I do not have personal issues with eating animals) if I were still single at this point in life and not married to MK who is very much a carnivore?

It is quite interesting to consider how the person you are married to influences every single part of your life including which foods you choose to eat even if those items may or may not be a personal preference. Now understand that I don't have an issue with this influence, I just think it's interesting to think about.

p.s. Alternatively Doritos were Buy One Get One (BOGO for Payless fans) and I'm weak. I do love Doritos! Don't judge.
