Thankful

We have a lot to be thankful for lately. We feel very blessed all around for our health, for our jobs, for our home, for each other but most of all for our family. I'm sure some have heard but due to the events that have involved our family the past few months I feel more and more thankful for each and every member of our families. We've had health scares, freak accidents, and now add to the list armed robbery. You know it's crazy and difficult times when someone decides it's time to rob a preacher and his secretary in broad daylight. Everyone is safe and on the mend without any super serious injuries. I don't know if I've ever thanked the Lord so much for my Dad as I have the past two days. He truly is a treasure and God truly is good.
For goodness sakes what would we do without G-Daddy?
So with those thoughts let's keep in mind God's grace and love and safety and friends and blessings of family and the beauty we see in everyday life. Like this beautiful dragonfly on MK's handsome hand.

Dance Party USA and Fun with our Bug

This impromptu Dance Party makes me smile every time I look at the pictures.

These girls are so
much fun and have great time together. Bax has really got the moves and Bug has just jumps around like crazy showing off in her Woo-Pig-Pooie shirt for Uncle MK.

Chessin'!
Can you tell that one picture she was actually flipped upside down on the couch?
Dance Parties will have that effect on you sometimes. I can attest to that for sure!

We also kept Bug for the weekend. We had SO much fun with her! We took a special trip to Chick-Fil-A and watched Buzz and Woody and Hermit crabs on Uncle MK's "puter!"

As you can see we've had some busy weekends as of late. I thought this weekend was going to be a nice relaxing one but it hasn't quite turned out that way. Work has just really put a lot on my plate and I ended up having to work most of the day. Through the beginning of August it's probably going to be 7 days a week for me with travel thrown into the mix. I'm quite tired already and just imagining it makes me even more tired. Good news is MK saw that I was at a breaking point and after being up at The G came home and helped me out with some deep cleaning. Love that guy.
Can't you see why???

This made my evening tonight. I know it's not referring to me but I love that my nickname is so interchangeable with certain things such as LP records, LP gas, and LP is always the code on the back of Publix trucks. If you ever see LP1983 on the back of a Publix truck take a picture for me! I look every time I'm traveling on I-4 (which seems to be daily)!

In other news....

It's been super busy right now.

Too busy to describe but that's ok. In the midst of all the busy-ness we are having a good time. I'll have to describe all the fun later.

At the moment I'm super excited about fun savings I found on Limited.com. They are having a big sale where work pants are like $17.99 originally $59 and shirts are $11.99 and under. There are also final sales that even cheaper if you are brave enough for that. Also found a promotional code online that took 20% off! So if you're in need of some work clothes or dressier clothes than Target or Forever 21 offers for the same kind of prices enter the code 318 when you check out. Just thought I would pass it along. I HATE spending money on work clothes and was excited to not have to go overboard. It helped too that I had a bit of money leftover on a gift card from Christmas.

I'll leave you with this cute picture of a sis trying to get on her brother's nerves and her brother ignoring her while they are both overly excited about their parents flying into town for a long weekend...

Water Bug

Our little bug is a water bug. She loves to be in the pool and to swim!
We went over to Mom and Dad's Saturday before Father's Day to relax and celebrate.
Grandmere of course catered to Bug's every need including a homemade smoothie in the pool. Poor little thing got so cold so she decided she needed to lay out in the sun and this is her cuddled and getting warm. So cute in her little orange bathing suit!
We love this little bug!

Summer Salad

Ok so I mentioned in my last post about a Martha Stewart's high and fancy summer salad that I had to make on a working girls/boys money...i.e. no lobster sub shrimp from Publix.

It was so good on Sunday I had to make it again for dinner tonight...for just me. I'm a little obsessed with it and was so excited I had enough of all ingredients left over except for the shrimp to make again tonight!
I like good food ok, deal with it.

Take a look though. Tell me that doesn't just look divine, refreshing and healthy (minus the bread I know...sometimes you have to have a little french baguette in your life).

Thank you Martha for the recipe. It made me feel high and fancy as I ate and watched House Hunters International and dreamed of living in Paris permanently.

So if you're interested here's what the salad consists of:
Arugula (fresh)
Cilantro (fresh)
Grilled Corn on the Cob sliced off the cob
(brushed with olive oil and salt and pepper)
Tomatoes
(grape or whatever you've got)
Avocado
Squeeze of lemon or lime whatever you've got
(Martha prefers lime I suppose)
Shrimp (or Lobster if you're so inclined) brushed with olive oil, fresh parsley and fresh chopped chives (broiled or grilled)
Sliced french baguette (my addition not Martha's)
I suppose you could add fresh shredded parmesan too but I didn't as that thought it just now occurring to me.

I couldn't tell ya how much of what was in the salad I just threw it all in there till it looked good enough. That's just how I cook, take it or leave it.
