Follow up to New Look & My Dad

A little while ago I wrote a post about MY Dad and mentioned an article that was about him and his work preaching the gospel here in Tampa.  The article was included in the December Edition.  There are two links to the story:

1. A Conversation Version

2. The full article PDF, he is on page 21 of the file.

I'm so proud of my Dad!

Also check it...I got a photo cred!

In other news here is another Target Holiday Commercial for your daily dose of laughter.  These commercials just kill me and make my day better!  Hope it does the same for you!

Pumpkin Patch Farm/It was a carnival!

This weekend Em wanted to take little Bug to a farm we had heard of that is about an hour away.  We thought it was going to be just a pumpkin patch, a hay ride, and some animals.  So made it a girls day with "Rara" and "Gi" too, loaded up and drove to the farm.  When we got there we saw it wasn't just a farm, it was basically a mini fair complete with fair food, trapeze artists, motorcycle tricks, pony rides, and carnival games.  We were shocked to say the least!  Bug thought it was the best place ever!  She had so much fun that day and we all did too.  It was a day well spent for these city girls (we were covered in dirt by the time we left)!

New Look & MY Dad

So there is a new look going on here...any thoughts?
I like the picture of my pups sleeping cause that's what they like to do best (besides run around like maniacs on cool fall mornings).

This week I had the pleasure of taking some pictures of my dad for an article in a Christian magazine.  If there is a link later I'll post it.  Anyways, it was quite a bright morning to take the pictures but I think we managed ok.  Dad wears glasses that are transition lenses and since it's Florida and sunny he and I decided that lightly tinted sunglasses were a good thing.  I love my dad.  When I asked him what he thought about loosing the glasses he said, "No one will know who I am without my glasses."  Of course!  It's true he looks quite differently without his glasses.
It was a harsh light but let me know what you think....
This one wasn't used sent the magazine but I like how it shows my Dad's kindness.  He was smiling at and talking to a passerby on a bike (hope the guy comes to visit maybe).
Not sent either...but I still like it, especially his hands covering his transition lenses so they won't be so dark in the sunlight.  I like his half smile...

Lookin' good in those shades! Plus the additional bushes that I decided needed to be added due to some unsightly parts of the church building.

For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing my dad, you know he is a great man.  I feel lucky to be raised by such a man.  I'm really not talented enough with words to convey what kind of man he is, but I hope that through these pictures you can see his heart and his kindness because that's the true beauty of my Dad.

By the way I noticed while looking closely at these pictures that not matter how much I KNOW I look my Mom...I'm pretty sure I inherited my Dad's Scottish cheeks.

Fall, Football and Frogger

It is finally feeling like Fall outside here in the good ole' Sunshine State!
With the feeling of fall comes good things like beautiful days, chili, and of course Football!!

Now I may a different kind of girl than some but I believe I enjoy football and sports more than most.  For example:  This beautiful Saturday Morning MK went to go play in a golf tournament so when the dogs and I decided to eat breakfast we watched Sportscenter and Game Day by ourselves.  I just like it.

With Football Season comes several different things.
1.  We generally spend more Saturdays at Mom and Dad's watching games.
2. Since Em and I married boys that are not Bama fans there are some rivalries and games that make some Saturdays a little more enjoyable & stressful depending on who is winning.  (As of late that's been Bama and I'm good with that one).
3.  Saturday activities are scheduled around football games.

Last Saturday was the Bama vs. Arkansas game which meant for a few uncomfortable moments in our household.  However my MK took it like a champ.  We took our little Bug over to Mom and Dad's to watch the game.  Em was out of town and her daddy dressed her....in Gator colors.  Thankfully since G-Daddy had been gone for so long to Ethiopia and Seychelles he didn't seem to mind.

Since our little Bug has been in our family there have been a few changes in activities during the game.  We take turns playing outside with her and watching the game.  Half-time is now spend catching lost frogs....to be specific Frogger....and petting  baby snakes named Scarecrow.  Take a look:

G giving Bug Frogger.

Bug was so excited to be holding Frogger.

Frogger got loose so half time was spent looking for him by all (G, Grand-mere, and Uncle Matt).

After the game we packed up Frogger and Scarecrow and took it back to Bug's house for her mom and dad to deal with.  After all...thats what Aunts and Uncles are for!

Roll Tide!  Beat those Gators!

Thankful

We have a lot to be thankful for lately. We feel very blessed all around for our health, for our jobs, for our home, for each other but most of all for our family. I'm sure some have heard but due to the events that have involved our family the past few months I feel more and more thankful for each and every member of our families. We've had health scares, freak accidents, and now add to the list armed robbery. You know it's crazy and difficult times when someone decides it's time to rob a preacher and his secretary in broad daylight. Everyone is safe and on the mend without any super serious injuries. I don't know if I've ever thanked the Lord so much for my Dad as I have the past two days. He truly is a treasure and God truly is good.
For goodness sakes what would we do without G-Daddy?
So with those thoughts let's keep in mind God's grace and love and safety and friends and blessings of family and the beauty we see in everyday life. Like this beautiful dragonfly on MK's handsome hand.

This made my evening tonight. I know it's not referring to me but I love that my nickname is so interchangeable with certain things such as LP records, LP gas, and LP is always the code on the back of Publix trucks. If you ever see LP1983 on the back of a Publix truck take a picture for me! I look every time I'm traveling on I-4 (which seems to be daily)!

In other news....

It's been super busy right now.

Too busy to describe but that's ok. In the midst of all the busy-ness we are having a good time. I'll have to describe all the fun later.

At the moment I'm super excited about fun savings I found on Limited.com. They are having a big sale where work pants are like $17.99 originally $59 and shirts are $11.99 and under. There are also final sales that even cheaper if you are brave enough for that. Also found a promotional code online that took 20% off! So if you're in need of some work clothes or dressier clothes than Target or Forever 21 offers for the same kind of prices enter the code 318 when you check out. Just thought I would pass it along. I HATE spending money on work clothes and was excited to not have to go overboard. It helped too that I had a bit of money leftover on a gift card from Christmas.

I'll leave you with this cute picture of a sis trying to get on her brother's nerves and her brother ignoring her while they are both overly excited about their parents flying into town for a long weekend...
